D-Dimer Antibody & Antigen
D-Dimer antibody and antigen raw materials for immunoassay development, reagent screening and rapid-test optimization. Source: Mouse (Antibody) / E. coli & Natural Protein (Antigen); application: Coagulation / Thrombosis Assessment.
Background
D-dimer is a specific degradation product of fibrin monomers crosslinked by activation factor XIII and hydrolyzed by fibrinolytic enzyme. It is a specific marker of fibrinolysis.
The d-dimer is derived from a fibrinolytic cross-linked protein clot.
Clinical Significance
D dimer mainly reflects fibrinolytic function.
Increased or positive in secondary hyperfibrinolysis, such as hypercoagulability, disseminated intravascular coagulation, renal disease, organ transplant rejection, thrombolytic therapy.
As long as the body has activated thrombosis and fibrinolysis activity in blood vessels, the d-dimer will be increased.
Elevated d-dimer can be induced by myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, pulmonary embolism, venous thrombosis, surgery, tumor, diffuse intravascular coagulation, infection, and tissue necrosis.
Especially for the elderly and hospitalized patients, abnormal clotting easily caused by bacteremia and other diseases leads to the increase of d-dimer.
