Cardiac Fatty Acid-Binding Protein (h-FABP) Antibody & Antigen
Cardiac Fatty Acid-Binding Protein (h-FABP) antibody and antigen raw materials for immunoassay development, reagent screening and rapid-test optimization. Source: Mouse (Antibody) / E. coli (Antigen); application: Early Myocardial Injury Assessment.
Background
Cardiac fatty acid binding protein (h-FABP) is a new type of cytosolic protein in the heart.
It is highly cardio specific (that is, expressed primarily in heart tissue) but is also present in low concentrations in tissues other than the heart.
After the onset of myocardial ischemic injury, h-FABP can be detected in the blood as early as 1-3 hours after the onset of chest pain, peak at 6-8 hours and return to normal plasma levels within 24-30 hours.
Cardiac fatty acid binding cytoplasmic protein is composed of 132 amino acids with a molecular weight of 15kDa.
The heart type fatty acid binding protein (h-FABP) gene is located on chromosome I.
It is one of the most abundant proteins in the heart.
HFABP binds two fatty acid molecules and is involved in the transport of aliphatic acyl coenzyme A, which is active in the oxidation process and thus generates energy in the mitochondria
Clinical Significance
1) h-FABP can be rapidly released into the blood in the early stage of ACS, which has the time advantage for the diagnosis of ACS and the characteristics of high specificity, high sensitivity and high coincidence rate for myocardial injury.
2) In the long-term prognosis of ACS, h-FABP concentration can effectively identify high-risk patients with AMI, heart failure, unstable angina and other adverse events.
3) the combined detection of h-FABP and troponin can improve the diagnostic sensitivity and have more diagnostic value for ACS.
As an early marker of myocardial injury, h-FABP could only detect with polyclonal antibodies with low specificity at the early stage, but the effect was not good.
With the application of highly specific monoclonal antibodies, h-FABP has been widely recognized in the early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of ACS.
Combined detection with troponin is the focus of clinical diagnosis in the future.
