Background
Viral hepatitis type B is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and is characterized by fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, oil aversion, hepatitis B with liver enlargement and liver dysfunction.
Some cases it is fever and jaundice;
In a few cases, the course of the disease was prolonged to become chronic or developed into cirrhosis of the liver or even liver cancer.
Severe disease progression can develop rapidly for severe hepatitis;
Others become asymptomatic carriers.
Clinical Significance
1) hepatitis b surface antigen (HBsAg): it indicates the presence of HBV in the body and is determined by other indicators that must be combined with or without infectivity;
If one doesn’t have any clinical symptom, liver function is normal and HBsAg lasts above 6 months positive person for chronic second liver virus is carried.
(2)hepatitis b surface antibody (anti-hbs): a protective antibody, positive means immunity to HBV, found in the convalescence of hepatitis b, hepatitis b vaccine or former infected people.
(3) hepatitis b E antigen (HBeAg). Positive prompt HBV replication active, infectious, continuous positive is easy to become chronic.
(4) hepatitis b E antibody (anti-hbe): positive means the reduction of HBV replication and the reduction of infectivity, but a small number of HBV can also occur because of certain genetic variations in the expression of HBV.
(5) hepatitis b core antigen (HBcAg): The general method is not easy to detect, but positive shows virus’ replication state, infectious.
(6) hepatitis b core antibody (anti-hbc): positive anti-hbc IgG indicates past infection or recent low-level infection;
High titer anti -HBc IgM positive indicated active replication of HBV.
