Malaria
Malaria reagents support immunoassay development for Plasmodium infection screening, including P. falciparum HRP-II detection. A paired HRP-II monoclonal antibody set is available for EIA and lateral-flow coating/labeling applications.
Background
Malaria is an arboreal infection caused by the infection of anopheles mosquitoes by biting or importing the blood of people carrying malaria parasites. Typical periodic chills, fever and sweating may be initially diagnosed. Irregular fever, accompanied by large spleen, liver and anemia, should be considered the possibility of malaria. Dangerous type occurs more in epidemic period, more urgent, high fever and shivering, coma and convulsion. Infants and young children in epidemic areas with sudden high fever, chills and coma should also be considered. Antimalarial antibodies generally appear at 2-3 weeks after infection, peak at 4-8 weeks, and then gradually decline.
Clinical Significance
Currently, indirect immunofluorescence, indirect hemagglutination and enzyme-linked immunoadsorption tests are used, and the positive rate can reach 90%. It is commonly used for epidemiological examination.
