NGAL
NGAL antibody raw material for immunoassay development, reagent screening and rapid-test optimization. Source: Mouse; application: Acute Kidney Injury Assessment.
Background
A large family of ligand (especially hydrophobic) binding proteins, including retinol-binding proteins, α microglobulin, α1 acidic glycoprotein, insect bile pigment binding proteins, and β lactoglobulin, all have homologous barreled structures.
Clinical Significance
NGAL levels may also be moderately elevated in infections and some cancers.
Patients above the NGAL baseline may have acute kidney injury and may progress to acute renal failure.
Acute kidney injury marker NGAL
Up to 50% of ICU patients may have some degree of acute renal failure.
The mortality rate of acute renal failure is in the forefront of critical illness mortality.
There has been no significant improvement in the prediction of acute renal failure over the past 40 years.
Current diagnostic methods, such as serum creatinine or cystease inhibitor C, are expressed only after renal function deteriorates, and this may not be apparent or even apparent for more than 1 day after organ injury.
With the use of the NGAL ELISA kit, doctors can take appropriate treatment within hours of the onset of acute renal failure, rather than days.
Product Parameters
Turbidity market is better; urine, serum and plasma are measured; and the consistency was good.
